As you know, for years The Wine Trust has brought you the finest aged Bordeaux wines from the finest vintages, purchased en primeur and cellared under optimal conditions. This wine has exclusively been purchased in Bordeaux, directly from negociants, to ensure impeccable provenance. Now, starting with the 2009 vintage, The Wine Trust is pleased to announce that we are inaugurating a new program to make 2009 vintage futures available to you, our best customers. As with our aged inventory, these futures have all been purchased from the most reputable negociants in Bordeaux and represent a great opportunity to acquire wines from the superb 2009 vintage at excellent prices.

The 2009 vintage has been acclaimed almost universally as extraordinary, with most critics venturing that 2009 will rank among the handful of best vintages of the last half century. Many châteaux produced “best ever” versions of their wines, which combine power with finesse and can age for decades. Parker raves that 2009 “may turn out to be the finest vintage (he) has tasted in 32 years of covering Bordeaux” and lists it among legendary vintages such as 1949, 1959 and 1982. The quality of the wines generated enormous global demand and made the en primeur campaign truly frenetic once the “big guns” started to release their wines. The enthusiasm in the United States as well as in Europe and Asia has made the top growths very challenging to find in any quantity....but we have persevered and are now able to offer them to you. Moreover, we did not stop at the first and second growths, but also purchased many other classified growths, superbly pedigreed cru bourgeois and second wines of the great châteaux. In many cases, the quality of those wines is truly breathtaking, yet the prices make them accessible to a wide audience.

While in coming days we will offer progressively more “celebrated” 2009 futures, directly on the next page we start with a group of well-known classified growths as they represent extraordinary value – many will drink nicely upon release, but also have the stuffing to age for decades.
