Right Bank
The soils of the Right Bank tend toward more clay and less gravel, making it better suited to Merlot. Merlot is the predominant grape variety grown here, followed by Cabernet Franc, Cabernet Sauvignon, Petit Verdot, and Malbec. Some of the most sought after and highest priced wines come from a few producers on the Right Bank.
