We have already mentioned the first and most famous of the classifications that took place in 1855. There have been several additional classifications since. Other than Haut-Brion, the Graves (and Pesssac-Léognan) châteaux were not officially classified until 1953. The classification of St-Emilion took place in 1955, and has been revised since in 1969, 1985, 1996, and 2006. Ausone and Cheval-Blanc top this list. Pomerol is the only major fine wine district of Bordeaux to never be classified, although Pétrus, Le Pin, La Conseillante, and others are highly sought after.
