In 2000, the Taillan group took control of the chateau and renovated and modernized the entire facility. Chateau Haut-Bages-Liberal sits on a 30 hectare vineyard with parcels of land scattered around Pauillac. The average vine age is 35 years old, and they are farmed using self sustaining and biodynamic farming techniques. The wine is then aged in 40% new, French oak barrels from 14 to 18 months, depending on the vintage.
